The project provides a new way to deliver youth work, support NEETs personal and professional development while actively engaging territorial partners and stakeholders to favour NEETs’ social/work insertion.

EYP will promote the empowerment, participation and the active citizenship of young people NEET by using an effective model of engagement, to ensure they have the life skills and knowledge to access training or employment, making informed choices, and enabling them to overcome barriers to participation. By taking part in the programme, participants will experience the following benefits:

  • Young people will have wider perspectives on topics as EU values, active citizenship and participation in democratic life.
  • Reduction of negative and anti-social behaviour patterns.
  • Improved civic participation amongst our target beneficiaries and increased awareness of social responsibilities.
  • Increased access to training and employment and inclusion.

The EYP programme is based on WLC’s EMPLOYABILITY BOOT CAMPS enhanced with the LICET model (method for territorial sustainable development).

The 4 phases of the LICET model provide an innovative way to organise and facilitate collaboration between the local community, young people and businesses/public institutions. Read more in EYP Program.

By involving these and letting them be responsible for the local issues (unemployment, or poor social conditions of the younger citizens) the aim is to increase their awareness and make them responsible for the creation of a better society/community. Read more on the benefits of the EYP Program >>

Objectives

Target groups

The EYP programme is designed specifically for young people in the NEET category who face a number of barriers. The activities proposed aim to help young people with educational difficulties and social obstacles to improve self-confidence, self-esteem, Interpersonal skills, behaviour and attitude.

The partners will contact and involve actively in the project to maximise and disseminate the results and products created, the following:

  • Primary, secondary schools and VET providers; tertiary, adult education organisations and all formal and non-formal education organisations. Education systems need to be improved to really support the younger generation by preventing drops-out of school and facilitating the schoolwork transition.
  • Organisations and institutions providing “trainer the trainer” type of training, including universities. Increasing professionals ‘awareness and skills will ensure a multiplier effect and faster penetration of the programme in the education system.
