On Thursday 24th of August, West Lothian Chamber of Commerce had the chance to present the EYP Program to their members and businesses within West Lothian.
The presentation included the aim, 4 stages of the programme and hope for the future use of the project. Also mentioned was the youth trip with all the partners coming together in Scotland this November. This was an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about the programme and how it could benefit organisations. It also allowed the Chamber to start getting businesses thinking about getting involved in the upcoming trip in November for the partners and youths coming to Scotland whether that is coming along to the graduation, sponsoring an activity, or even offering a business visit.
The feedback at the event regarding the programme was all very positive with some mentioning “how positive the initiative was” and how “great it is that this is being looked in to on a global level”.
Using these types of events to promote this programme is vital as it allows businesses and organisations to see a different approach to youth employment and the benefits of having this implemented within the organisations to ensure more youths get to a positive destination
